In celebration of "Ruiner's" departure, we will be doing something like One World's "Century" on Tuesday, 3 February 2009. Actually, we're sad to see him go but want to send him off properly. Who is "Ruiner" and what is "Century"?! Well, Ruiner is an Air Force member who started training with Diablo CrossFit. He eventually caught on to CFS and has since made it his home. He's probably most famous for cranking out tons of reps with super heavy weights--or sporting his uniform during a WOD.
To participate in the Fairwell WOD, please bring your own beer, soda or favorite alcoholic beverage. In addition, we will be having pizza and are asking for a $5 donation for partaking. If you'd like to bring an appetizer or desert, you are more than welcome to. Please post to comments if you are planning on attending. We will kick off after the 630pm class.
Here's a pic of Ruiner and a video of One World's Century gone bad...
In addition to the fairwell, just a few housekeeping announcements:
1. Fees for the gym rise on, 1 February 2009. If you have questions about the fees, please post to comments. The new fees will be posted soon.
2. WODs for the record board are only to be done on prescribed Rest Days or when they are the prescribed WOD. If they are done on days other than a Rest Day or when posted, they will not count for the record boards.
3. If you are interested in participating in tonight's Ice Fishing at One World or would just like to watch, the "party bus" (Lauren's ride) will be leaving at 430p from the gym. There will be drinks and snacks for the adults and a jumper for the kids inside the gym. It is an event for the entire family. One World is located in Union City.
4. Jason S. is participating in the 2009 Polar Bear Plunge. It is a fundraising event supporting the Special Olympics. If you would like to donate to the cause, please click on the link in the right sidebar of our page to go to his donation page.
5. CFS will be CLOSED on Thursday, 5 Feb 2009, for training. Please mark your calendars.

So I'm waiting in this REALLY long line at Comcast...seriously?! All in the name of UFC, BJ Penn and my darling husband. Yeah.
Tired too.
Amazing job to all those who battled "Nicole" yesterday and today. I saw all those names on the board this morning and was so proud! :)

Correction on the fees they do not rise until 021509, and that is only for new members. Current members will remain at their current rates so if you have someone who is thinking about joining get them down there now! The Ruiner WOD will be on 020309. I will only be doing the hour of power as I'm getting to be an old man and the "beer wolf" has been put to den.

As a birthday present to Fabio (it's his birthday tomorrow), I say he gets..hmmmm... an extra hard WOD. Say "Kelly" (tomorrow's WOD) plus tabata sit-ups or squats or hey, how about both! Or wait, I know, he was really looking foward to doing the 75 thrusters. Maybe you guys can tack those on to his WOD. OK, so some may think... what a mean wife. To that I say, I'm fully aware of my husband's CrossFit addiction and am just here to support him. ;)

Century club looks fun...BUT...I'm out. Ruiner, I wish you a speedy return!Good luck to all of you crazy kids with this one!
If you want to make this event REALLY interesting you should make the beverage of choice be from the malted variety, i.e. Mickey's, or Old english. Think about it, 3 40's would run you less than 10 bucks AND you would have 20 oz's left over to pour out to fallen homies...lol!

Just got home- we didn't win the ice fishing tourney! Robot was a good athlete, came in 8th (ish) out of 30. I saw ish, cause I am not sure of the exact placement.
Watch the century club tonight, yuck! I think I will pour for all those taking part and sip and my own pace my beer!
See you in the morning =)
