CrossFit Kids (CFK) combines gymnastics, body weight calisthenics, and weightlifting elements to develop capacity across ten
general physical skills: cardio-respiratory endurance, power, strength, stamina, speed, agility, flexibility, balance, accuracy, and co-
ordination. The elements are combined to keep children engaged and
entertained, while teaching them proper movement technique and creating a broad athletic foundation. For CFK, it is imperative to pair fitness and fun, to
create a lifelong love of health and fitness for our children.
As many of you have noticed Matt, Lynn, Roelle and Wyatt have been gone- they are visiting family in Montana. However, as many of you have experienced, it doesn't matter what state you are in or what you have planned for your vacation, CFS is always close to your heart. You wonder what the WODs are, who is PR'ing, what new achievements are happening etc etc etc... Lynn sent me a picture to prove just that:
Another fine example of "constantly varied" (thank you Sampson):
I hope that gives Matt some ideas! I remember a story of Maris trying something similar, trying to do some pull-ups on a tree to show his CrossFit skills. Have any of you had an experience trying to explain/show a friend or family member what CrossFit is? Or maybe your most creative at home WOD- please share in the comments.

Thanks for posting Lo! We miss everyone @ CFS! We've been truly missing the luxuries of the box being away from home, i.e. sit-up pads, mats, etc... but we've been improvising with what we have here... We made a pull-up bar in the backyard with 2 trees and a pipe after the clothes line didn't work out so well... hehe..(Wait till you see the pics from our "tabada something else".) :) We did try lifting Wyatt to supplement as our "weights" ~ not as comfortable, but it sure does work!
Hope everyone is doing well & getting their WOD's & PR'ing!! We will keep working on our "improvised WOD's"... & send pics too... :) See you all soon!
I love seeing people's pictures and hearing about their experiences trying to CF while on vacation- it sounds like the Thomas' are doing a great job!
I remember trying to explain CrossFit to a co-worker after she noticed my hands ripped up (from pull-ups as you all I am sure guessed), anyway she thought I was training for MMA fighting!
I would like to invite all the CFS ladies to our Sexy Beast free teaser at CrossFit Vallejo tonight at 7:30. So for those secret CrossFit Solano pole dancers, here's another chance unleash your sexy beast.
We are going to the CrossFit Flathead tomorrow morning here in Montana to go checkout their gym. I will take pictures and send them to you. :) He sounded really cool & excited about us coming there to go workout. So, I'll let you know how it goes! :)
